Scope of work
This interior renovation of a 120 year old gothic basilica styled church in Belleville, Ont. was undertaken to replace ill-conceived late 1950's and 1960's building changes. The design intent was to bring the building up to current liturgical practises, restore worthy works of art, and renovate the balance of the building in a manner sympathetic to the building's history. The work included:
- Floor plan revisions to improve access, move the Altar closer to the congregation, open up the narthex and to create a place of Eucharistic Reservation
- New liturgical furnishings (Altar, Ambo, Baptismal Font, Tabernacle Stand and Holy Oils Cabinet)
- Artwork restoration of apse frescos, painted medallions of Saints and framed Stations of the Cross
- A new painting plan and tile floor, as well as a wooden ceiling restoration
